Below are lesson plans based on the Candid Critters citizen science project to complement ecology study objectives in NC and recommendations by the NGSS. Lesson plans are targeted at grades 5, 6 and 8, however, any teacher may implement Candid Critters in the classroom! If you would like to officially enroll to receive 1.0 CEU credit, click here. The requirements for earning a CEU include:
- Candid Critters online training (1 hr)
- Implementing 5 (out of 7) lesson plans (6 hrs)
- Lessons 1, 2, 4, 5, 7
- Watching three 30 min webinars on lesson plans and answering questions (1.5 hrs), webinars are live, but recorded sessions are below
- Administering a pre and post test to students for grades 5-8 or have students write a reflection piece for other grades (1 hr)
- Completing a survey on your Candid Critters in the Classroom experience (0.5 hr)
